Dr. Jack Lemons

Dr. Jack Lemons has been on the staff at University of Alabama Birmingham, UAB, since 1973. He has taught, researched, or consulted in dentistry, orthopedic surgery, and biomedical engineering. Jack Lemons has been the key in developing a major part of what we do in dental implantology today. He has received many honors at UAB, such as The Sam Brown Bridge Builder Award, which honors individuals who engage in interdisciplinary collaborative efforts across campus, and the creation of the Dr. Jack Lemons Endowed Scholarship in Biomedical Engineering in his honor. Dr. Lemons was recognized by the ASTM International Committee F04 on Medical and Surgical Materials and Devices with the Patrick G. Laing Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions. He served on multiple F04 subcommittees, chaired F04.93, and once served as chairman of the main F04 committee. Dr. Lemons is a charter member of the Alabama Implant Study Group.
